Twenty-Fourth Flutter [Video/Action for Goldenrod.]

[Today, Fluttershy is outside with her Mareep, Cream. She turns on the Video, for she has an inquiry.]

Um... I was wondering if somepony could help me... I've been here for quite a while, but I don't think I'm doing my job right... so... if you don't mind... maybe... somepony could teach me how to breed?

[For those of you who want Action, she is sitting on a bench, calmly brushing her sheep's wool... and every couple of seconds, gets visibly shocked by it. More like a static shock, but it does make her jerk around. Yet she continues right on brushing. ]

You can still be a breeder, Fluttershy. Look, all you need is Pokemon that can breed with the ones you have, right?

But if I capture more Pokemon, that means one of the ones I already have will be sent away to the computer!

[which just seems so sad ;; ]

Well, yes, but they don't have to stay there. You can keep rotating them in and out, so that they can all still spend time with you.

I guess so... Do you think the computer will treat them well?

I think it'll be kind of like a long sleep for them. I don't know if Pokemon dream, but if they do, I'm sure any of yours will have wonderful dreams.

[She still looks a little uncertain, but manages to smile.]

That does sound very nice...

[Another person might have missed that uncertainty in Fluttershy's expression, but Twilight never would.]

But at the same time... if you really don't want to send them away, you shouldn't have to. There are other methods. I mean, if nothing else, I still have four slots to fill. Maybe something I'll find will take a liking to one of yours.

Oh, but I don't want to put pressure on your Pokemon! You should do what you want to do!

[... Speaking of which... with all of their friends gone, what is their goal? They had mostly been traveling to collect friends, set up shops, etc. So. Now what?]

Ah, about that... There's something I should tell you. But you have to keep this a strict secret. No one else can know.

[Twilight's expression turns absolutely deathly serious. This is probably not the best sign in the world.]

Oh... okay! I won't tell anypony, I promise.

[And just to make extra sure, she leans over and covers Cream's ears. Baaaah.]

Alright... You're not going to like it, I'll warn you about that.

[She takes in a deep breath, and decides to just tell this in the quickest and simplest way possible, to get it over with.]

I've joined a group to take down Team Rocket.

[Oh, this is going to end well.]

What?! A group to... But, that sounds so dangerous! They're so many, and you're so few, and they're so scary!

[She's even shaking the Mareep in her worry. Dizzy Mareep doesn't mind too much.]

[She closes her eyes, trying to stay cool and collected, even if she knows that in many ways, Fluttershy's right.]

I know the dangers, Fluttershy. But I knew them when I went to face Nightmare Moon, when we took on Discord... Every time something happened that we needed to be there for. I didn't back down then. I won't do it now. They need to be stopped.

But you don't have your magic this time! Or the elements of harmony! Sh-shouldn't we leave this to the police or something...?

[Oh she's gunna cry. Very soon.]

[She'd love to prevent that, but at this point, she most likely can't.]

The police either can't or won't stop them. We're the only ones who have a chance. I... I've been thinking about this for a long time, Fluttershy. I think... this might be why I was brought here.

Twilight...

{with a whimper, she suddenly hugs her friend very close.]

I-If anything happened to you... i d-don't know what I'd do!

[She hugs back, tightly. Her arms are trembling, and it's clear she's not as calm as she'd like Fluttershy to believe.]

That won't happen. I won't let it. I promised, remember?

[And as much as this terrifies Fluttershy, she says it anyway...]

... N-No matter what... I'm going with you! I-I'm not letting you out of my sight... I'm not going to leave you!

[Because she is SICK AND TIRED OF BEING ALONE. If she can help it, she's going to protect her dear friend, no matter how scary the situation is.]

... Fluttershy...

[She closes her eyes, a few little tears threatening to break through. She knows what it means for her timid friend to say that, and she's touched.]

Thank you. I was going to ask if you wanted to come along, and to tell you the truth, I was... kind of afraid you'd want to stay...

No... Even though it's going to be really scary and dangerous... I won't ever leave you. You're my friend, and we need each other.

[She sniffles a little. Cream bleats, happy for them. baaaaaah :) ]

Right... We'll stay together as long as we're both here. Just like we promised.

[After a little bit more of holding her, Twilight pulls back just enough to look Fluttershy in the face again, though she doesn't let go. Her face is still a bit wet, but she couldn't possibly care less.]

I'm not sure when we'll be leaving or where we'll be going. But when we figure it out you'll be the first person to know. Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.

[She smiles, glad for the promise. She then reaches over, trying to wipe away Twilight's tears with her giant sleeves.]

I'll be ready whenever you are. You can count on me. I've got plenty of money saved up now, from my nursing job, so I can help there...

[She nuzzles her head into Fluttershy's sleeve, then leans in to nuzzle her face instead. Hugs are great, but a ponylike gesture of affection seems better, somehow.]

Ah, right, your job... They won't be too upset about you leaving, will they?

[She happily returns the nuzzle, rather glad to be reminded of their pony ways. She ducks her head under Twilight's chin, like a pony cuddle.]

They'll be fine, I'm sure they can get a much better nurse.

[Not only is the act comforting, but Fluttershy's hair is really soft. Twilight rests her head on Fluttershy's mine with a soft hum.]

Fluttershy, I don't know about medical training or knowledge, but when it comes to bedside manner, no one could ever be a better nurse than you.
