 [It's rare for Fluttershy to actually try to get attention, yet here she is, turning on the Pokegear as she and Twilight travel towards the next town. She swallows, then speaks... Oh, and don't mind the Murkrow that's using her pink hair as a nest.]

Um... hello... I'm sorry if I'm bothering anyone, but... I thought I'd been hearing a lot of people struggling with their Pokemon lately... And I wanted to try and help...

See, my special talent is helping animals... I can talk to them and understand them... So, I thought, maybe if anyone would like me to try... I can talk to your Pokemon, and see if I can help with any problems you might be having...

[While Twilight leads the way through the path towards Union Cave, Starswirl the Kadabra slips back a few steps to walk alongside Fluttershy as she makes her post. If Twi notices, she doesn't say anything. Starswirl waits for a bit after she's finished her message before speaking up telepathically.]

Do you really think you can help the trainers who are having trouble?

[She smiles, and while she's still not used to speaking with only her mind, she tries her best, for the sake of keeping the conversation private. She assumes that's what Starswirl wants, anyway.]

I can at least try... As long as I have my talent, I should use it to help others...

Hmmm. You two really are similar.

[He gives the Murkrow a disdainful look, unable to avoid the Dark-type at this short distance, but not really wanting to rile it up while he talks to its trainer.]

Always thinking of others first. Even if it's to your own detriment.

[Murkrow can feel the eyes, and 'hmphs'.]

Detriment? It's not like that... I'm happy to do this. It's my special talent.

[Starswirl snorts, and decides to just try not to look at Murkrow.]

That's not what I mean. Have you ever thought about why these people might be having trouble with their Pokemon?

[Murkrow is SO making faces at you now, goatee.]

Well... there can be all kinds of different reasons. No two pokemon or people are the same.

[Ignorrrrrrring him~! Also giving Fluttershy an unsure face.]

Really. Do you ever have these sorts of problems?

[3_butterflies]

Oh, sure. I'm not perfect either... Sometimes I don't get along with my Pokemon, or Pokemon in the wild... I know One still doesn't want me as his trainer, but it's okay...

Do you know why that is? Have you made steps to fix the problem?

[3_butterflies]

He misses his old trainer. I know what it's like to miss somepony close to you. So... we share our pain, and take small steps together.

Ah. Apus is similar, but she seems accepting of my trainer... then again, that could have something to do with the close relationship between her former trainer and mine.

See? It all works out. We just have to work together and listen.

That's fine for you two. You're good trainers. But not everyone out there is like you. How do you know you aren't helping the wrong people?

The same way I don't know I'm not. I have to trust them. The Pokemon will tell me either way.

[He just stares at her a bit, frowning, clearly trying to grasp her viewpoint and having a hard time of it.]

It's called 'giving the benefit of the doubt'.

That doesn't make much sense to me, but I suppose you have less to lose from trusting a strange human than a Pokemon does.
