[It's very rare for Fluttershy to ever make a post on the gear, so it must be important. Her eyes are a little red, maybe from crying, or maybe she's just frustrated. Her Murkrow sits on her shoulder, gently nudging her, trying to encourage her. after a moment, Fluttershy nods, and speaks.]

H-Hello, everypony... I mean, everyone. I just wanted to say something...

A lot of us can't understand Pokemon. But Pokemon can understand us. They can tell when we're angry, or sad, or happy, or frightened... And in time, they understand our language too. After all, a Pokemon wouldn't be able to battle if they didn't know what we were saying.

That said... that means they can also understand insults, and rudeness. So please think carefully before you talk to or around your Pokemon... especially when naming them...

... That's all.

[...oh, Flutters. Just...give Descole a moment, and he'll actually give you a video that's in one of those nondescript rooms that pop up on the feed from time to time. Better that than the lab, after all; he'll even give you the courtesy of having the shot aimed full-on rather than at some sort of horrible hipster angle.]

Unfortunately, most who would name these things insulting names in the first place likely won't care whether they can understand or not - some may consider it a bonus if they do understand. In some cases, the cruelty is the point.

[Despite his words, however, his tone isn't aggressive; it's a bit distant, perhaps, but that's more to cover awkwardness than anything else.

...as for why he's awkward...]

Might I ask what it was in particular that upset you?

[...yeah, um. How. Do we do this whole 'concern' thing. Without failing horribly.]

[HE'S TRYING... orz]

Well, you'll find that's a bit of a universal trait; people like that are more or less everywhere, from what I've seen.

[because Descole is totally a paragon of good decisions amirite]

Either way. I assume they weren't too polite with you, regarding the possibility of changing that name?

Does it actually seem to bother the creature in question, or does it not mind? Some of them are simpler than others, closer to the animals in my own world in temperament and general mental ability - and where I'm from, you can name things as reasonably intelligent as dogs all manner of insulting things, and they'll respond favorably as long as your tone is right.

That is a valid point, I suppose -

[.............wait.]

And not to be rude, but you mean to say you actually talk to these animals? You've mentioned that you understand them, yes, but you...actually carry out conversations and the like?

...That would explain a lot, wouldn't it.

[He pauses for a moment, fidgeting slightly, before he seems to settle a bit.]

By the way, that...suggestion you gave me a while back regarding the music turned out to be rather helpful.

I thought you might like to know about that; he's quite the useful creature, and he seems to have taken the evolution well.

[he zips around like a boss and doesn't afraid of anything

squealing the entire time

but at least it's pleased squealing as opposed to...wailing, um]

Yes. Well.

[...he awkwards at it, that is what he does, apparently]

[...oh come on, don't judge his lifestyle here]

I've been well; at the very least, there's nothing I can complain about, so I imagine that's something.

And yourself...?
