[It's very rare for Fluttershy to ever make a post on the gear, so it must be important. Her eyes are a little red, maybe from crying, or maybe she's just frustrated. Her Murkrow sits on her shoulder, gently nudging her, trying to encourage her. after a moment, Fluttershy nods, and speaks.]

H-Hello, everypony... I mean, everyone. I just wanted to say something...

A lot of us can't understand Pokemon. But Pokemon can understand us. They can tell when we're angry, or sad, or happy, or frightened... And in time, they understand our language too. After all, a Pokemon wouldn't be able to battle if they didn't know what we were saying.

That said... that means they can also understand insults, and rudeness. So please think carefully before you talk to or around your Pokemon... especially when naming them...

Unfortunately, most who would name these things insulting names in the first place likely won't care whether they can understand or not - some may consider it a bonus if they do understand. In some cases, the cruelty is the point.

[Despite his words, however, his tone isn't aggressive; it's a bit distant, perhaps, but that's more to cover awkwardness than anything else.

Not all Pokémon can understand us, and not all trainers give vocal commands to begin with. There are other ways to work strategies out with Pokémon that don't involve giving things away by shouting out attack names constantly. Besides, you'd be surprised how well they can battle by thinking on the fly.

[But this is less about strategy and more about understanding... sigh.]

Besides, I know for a fact that my Aerodactyl can't understand me at all. The others can, and it's not like I spout insults at her, but she's never understood words. Ever.

I agree with this! Pokemon shouldn't be subjected to insults or being treated anything less than close friends! They devote their lives to us, we should make sure they're happy too!

[She wants to get involved in most of these conversations that are going on, to back up Fluttershy when people argue with her (though thankfully, most of these people seem to be on her side in this) or at least put in her two cents... but this is Fluttershy's moment, and unless her friend calls for her help, Twilight's going to let her take care of herself.

Besides, they've got a camp to set up. And even if most of what she's doing ends up feeling like busywork, Twilight figures it's worth it to prevent herself from butting in.

Finally, though, her curiosity and concern get the better of her, and she directs Sapphire and Megasoma (who keeps getting distracted by Scoots) to finish things off under Starswirl's watchful eye as she goes over to sit next to her friend.]

So... what sort of results have you gotten?

[The question feels awkward even to her, but she honestly can't think of a better way to phrase it. Besides, she figures Fluttershy will understand, anyway.]
